Okay, I suck. I have accomplished absolutely nothing in three months. I still live in the basement of hell, I still don't have a car, and I haven't written in ages. I need to give myself a serious kick in the ass and DO SOMETHING...other than WoW.

Stole this from [info]satyrnfive What can I say, Shirtless Kirk compelled me. ;)

I'm a Lifer!

To you, a job is what pays the bills. You put in your hours, follow the rules, and then go home. Occasionally, you consider quitting, but then you think of how bad the job market is and you reconsider. Whatever happiness you get, you get from your life outside the workplace. Relationships, family, hobbies, and outside creative pursuits are what really matter to you. You're probably taking this test at work because you don't have anything better to do.

Its Picture Day!

It's picture day at my son's school, and I just sent him off. I let him pick his clothes and stuff, and I helped with his hair. I'm betting he's the only fifth grader who takes a picture today with a winged skull dominating his dress shirt and a two inch mohawk. Once upon a time, I would have called this bad parenting. Today, all I can say is 'isn't he cute!'

Getting with it

  • Mar. 7th, 2007 at 3:15 PM
Dawn
I've been killing way too much time on World of Warcraft, so I'm taking an extended break to get some other stuff done. Today is cleaning day. I'm ignoring the asswipes I live with and cleaning the basement (which is basically my apartment) and both mine and the kids' bedrooms. Later tonight I plan to start working on updating my many WIPs as well as a couple pieces for [info]50_smutlets and [info]tth5000. I've actually updated my todo list, and even plan to get the stuff on there done this month. Rather I actually do it all, well, we'll see.

Finally, after two weeks of no internet, I'm all moved and reconnected. I still have a butt load of work to do to get the apartment together, but its all good. Hopefully I'll have everything done this weekend so I can start writing again.

One day to go....

Tomorrow is moving day! Too bad I still have half a house to pack. ;)
Prolly won't be seeing too much of me for a while. Charter doesn't service the area I'm moving too, so I have to get a new internet connection set up. Until that happens, my internet time will be sadly limited to library visits. I will still be updateing fics soon, irregular though it will be. Hopefully it won't take long to get my 'net connection up and running in the new apartment.
Love ya guys! Hope to be back soon.

Ups and Downs

  • Nov. 21st, 2006 at 10:30 AM
Dawn
So, I haven't posted lately, cause I've been stuck in a bit of a funk. I hit two months off work, and the bills are piling up, the the whole 'act like nothings wrong so the kids don't worry' was not only tiring, but obviously didn't work. Today, I finally got clearance from my doctor to go back to work, and I still don't know who's more relieved - me, or my ten year old son who did a happy dance when I called to get a schedule from my suck ass retail job. But, today is a good day, so I thought I'd post here, since my nano died an unremarkable death, and I haven't written anything, fic of otherwise, in over a week. Maybe now that some of the pressure of real life can ease up, maybe, just maybe, I can get some fic out. :)
Today does have a down side, though. My happy-dancing 10 year old son is going to have a root canal today. Poor kid, but he has been promised that he can eat nothing but yogurt and soup if he's sore after, so he's okay with it. Of course, that means he's gonna help himself to my yogurt stash, but life can't be perfect.

New level of procrastination

  • Nov. 6th, 2006 at 5:17 PM
Dawn
I should be writing my nano. Or, at least working on one of the many updates on my todo list for the month. But, since I haven't been able to get a decent word out in two days, I made myself a crappy new website. It started because, since I couldn't write, I decided to play on the net. Unfortunatly, I came across my old site and realized a few things. First of all, the pop ups from 741 are annoying as all get out. I have three different blockers, and I still get hit with at least two pop ups per page. pftt. I also realized that the site basically sucked. And it hadn't been updated in, like, forever. So, I took everything off the site, completely redid each page to a)look nicer and b) match, added in all the new stories and updates that were missing, and moved to a new host. Still a free site, 'cause I'm broke, and still pretty basic, both 'cause I'm lazy and know nothing about any type of code. Overall, its been a productive few hours. Sadly, it was hours I should have spent writing. If anyone wants to see how productive procrastination can be, or just wanna tell me my site sucks monkey balls, check out my little world
